Blizzard Snow Totals 24 Inches in Medford

Medford unofficially received exactly two feet of snow as a result of the blizzard that smacked the region Friday and Saturday, according to figures released by the National Weather Service.

The numbers published by the NWS came from observers, spotters and media collected during the storm. The Medford number was recorded at 8:12 a.m. Saturday.

Figures from nearby communities include 30.2 inches for Winchester, 28 inches for Somerville, 26 inches for Cambridge, 22.5 inches for Melrose, 22 inches for Stoneham and 20 inches for Malden.
