Nasty Weather: The snow is expected to come down until about 1 p.m. today, then turn to rain, according to the National Weather Service. The rain is expected to continue until about 2 a.m. High tempurature will be about 37 degrees, with a low of about 33 degrees, according to the weather service.
: A house fire on Fairfax Street in West Somerville killed two people Monday afternoon. Authorities had not yet identified the two people killed late Monday night.

City Council Talks Fire Station Money, Burke Appointment: The city council is expected to meet with fire Chief Frank Giliberti at 6 p.m. before its regular meeting to discuss $53,000 the fire department is seeking to look into station repairs. During it's regular meeting they will consider a request from Mayor Michael McGlynn to continue with the appointment of Councillor Stephanie Burke at the city's personnel and budget director.

It's Interdisciplinary Science Day!: holds a conference from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today, aimed at brining together science and math faculty to encourage new interdisciplinary research.
