Green Line Extension Meeting Slated for Wednesday, Input Sought
Meeting will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brooks School.

The Metropolitan Area Planning Council will hold a public meeting Wednesday to talk about the proposed second phase of the Green Line Extension project, which would extend the transit line to Route 16 near the Medford/Somerville line, according to an update from MassDOT.
It will be the first in a series of meetings with the community to discuss the benefits and impacts of potentially extending the rail that far.
Phase one of the extension project, which was approved for $22 million in funding by the MBTA earlier in February, will extend the Green Line from Lechmere Station in Cambridge through Somerville to College Avenue in Medford.
Officials from both the MBTA and MAPC will be on hand to discuss planning and take public input. The meeting is expected to run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Brooks Elementary School.
