Lightning Strike Sparks Medford Fire

MEDFORD, MA — A lightning strike sparked a house fire in Medford Thursday. The firefighters' union tweeted shortly after 5 p.m. that crews were at a home on Wedgemere Road that had been struck by lightning.

There was "light smoke" coming from inside the home, the union said. The fire was brought under control, and firefighters were clearing the scene by 6 p.m.
