MEDFORD, MA — President Trump's loss in Massachusetts on Tuesday was expected in the perennially deep blue state, but how did he fare among Medford residents this time around?
Support for Trump waned in 2020 compared to 2016, but not by much. Results from the 2016 election show the president received 7,671 votes, compared to 7,412 this year. Hillary Clinton received 20,690 votes in Medford in 2016, while Joe Biden earned 22,717.
Voter turnout was slightly better this year, as more than 31,000 residents cast ballots, versus 30,528 in 2016.

While Trump ultimately lost in Medford, he fared better in individual precincts this year. He was roundly swept by Clinton in 2016, but managed to edge out Biden in Ward 2, Precinct 2; Ward 3, Precinct 1; and Ward 3, Precinct 2.
