The Medford Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. It is our hope this will give residents another day to shovel sidewalks for our children who are walking to school.
The DPW is clearing school bus stops and will continue to do so on Tuesday. In addition the DPW will continue to knock down high mounds of snow to improve visibility and walking conditions.
We are also clearing the roofs of our school buildings. We will continue to prepare the school lots and walkways so they will be ready for an expected school opening on Wednesday.
We want to thank all city workers and residents who have pitched in to help clear snow from our streets and walkways. We ask that everyone check in and around their homes to ensure safe passage going forward.
All school events will be rescheduled with adequate public notice so important activities will continue once this emergency situation is over.
Once again we ask our young adults to assist elderly and infirmed residents with cleaning their properties.
Please stay warm and safe. We look forward to seeing you in school on Wednesday.
