No Vote on Medford Water Improvements Loan
Medford City Council will hold a committee of the whole meeting on the subject next week.
The Medford City Council did not vote Tuesday night on a loan order from Mayor Michael J. McGlynn for nearly $3.2 million in water improvements.
Instead, the council will discuss the loan order at a committee of the whole meeting next week. The meeting will take place Feb. 12 at 6 p.m. in Room 207 of Medford City Hall.
Council President Robert Maiocco said the suggestion the loan order be discussed at the committee of the whole came from McGlynn.

Councilor Michael Marks added that he had requested information from the city regarding its use of zero percent finance loans. Marks wanted to know the number of such loans the city has taken advantage of over the years.
"I hope that information is part of this committee of the whole meeting so we have it in front of us when we're discussing this particular paper," Marks said.

If approved, the loan would come from the Local Pipeline Assistance Program of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA).
