From our humble beginnings at a table on Congress Street during Portland's First Friday Artwalk, we've grown into a beloved household service with a big climate impact. Today, we service more than 40,000 households, schools, restaurants, businesses, and events across the region. We're expanding our reach with the vision of bringing convenient curbside composting to communities throughout New England. Our ethos is simple: make composting approachable, convenient, and impactful while supporting local economies. Through our work, we're tackling one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions—food waste in landfills—and turning it into a resource that nourishes the region's soil and farms.

Comedic legend Bill Cosby paid a visit to Tufts University last Friday. Cosby, along with educator and social commentator Alvin F. Poussaint from Harvard University, were honored at the fifth annual Eliot-Pearson Awards for Excellence in Children's Media at Distler Performance Hall at Tufts. The awards are given every two years to recognize innovation, diversity, non-violence and developmentally appropriate media for children, according to the release from university spokeswoman Katie Cinnamond. Cosby's work in children and family media includes his sit-com "The Cosby Show," children interview show "Kids Say the Darndest Things," and cartoons "Fat Albert" and "Little Bill."
