Sign Knocked Down in Motor Vehicle Accident
At 8:27 a.m. March 20, Melrose Police responded to the intersection of Summer and Lynde Streets for a report of motor vehicle accident. The caller reported that his vehicle slid off the road and onto the sidewalk. The vehicle was towed, according to police. The DPW was contacted about a stop sign down and they would be installing a temporary one, according to police. A sander was also sent to the area to tend to slick roadway, according to police.

March 18
10:42 a.m.: A couple visited the police station to report that their bank account had been compromised. A report was taken.
1:49 p.m.: Police responded to Main Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. The caller reported being run off the road by another vehicle, according to police. No report was taken.
2:46 p.m.: Police called to the intersection of Swain's Pond Avenue and Penney Road on a report of a motor vehicle accident. No report taken.
4:08 p.m.: Police responded to the intersection of Lynn Fells Parkway and Tremont Street for a report of a motor vehicle accident. State Police were on scene, according to police. One person was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, and two vehicles were towed from the scene, according to police.
5:50 p.m.: Police called to Swain's Pond Avenue for a report of several hypodermic needles. The needles were located and disposed of properly, according to police.
March 19
10:53 a.m.: Police called to Coolidge Condominiums on Main Street for a report of an unknown odor in the building. The Fire Department was notified, according to police.
11:43 a.m.: Police responded to Lynn Fells Parkway on a report of a motor vehicle accident. State Police took control of the scene, according to police.
3:17 p.m.: Police called to Warwick Road for a report of stolen checks. A report was taken.
4:38 p.m.: Police responded to Elmhurst Nursing Home on Main Street for a complaint of possible abuse of a patient against a nurse. A report was taken.
