From our humble beginnings at a table on Congress Street during Portland's First Friday Artwalk, we've grown into a beloved household service with a big climate impact. Today, we service more than 40,000 households, schools, restaurants, businesses, and events across the region. We're expanding our reach with the vision of bringing convenient curbside composting to communities throughout New England. Our ethos is simple: make composting approachable, convenient, and impactful while supporting local economies. A fire destroyed an older Corvette in a Hopkins Street driveway on Tuesday morning. Melrose firefighters quickly extinguished the fully engulfed car after arriving at the home around 11:48 a.m. The fire apparently began when the owner restoring the car started it and the car backfired while parked atop leaves in the driveway, which also caught fire. There were no injuries.
