The next meeting of the Melrose Emblem Club #89 will be held on Monday, May 2nd, 7:30 pm at the Melrose Elks Lodge. Nominations and election of officers for the next two years will be held at this meeting and everyone is urged to attend. Installation of officers will take place in October. Dues were due by April 1st and anyone who has not paid their dues is urged to do so as soon as they can. Â
Sunday, May 1st, Melrose Emblem Club will participate in the Massachusetts State Association of Emblem Clubs 3rd annual KT/DA Walk-a-thon. The Kidney Transplant/Dialyis Association has been the State Association's pet charity project for 30 years now.
On Wednesday, May 4th between the hours of 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, the Club will hold a dinner fundraiser at Liberty Bell Restaurant which is located next to Honey Dew Donuts in the Johnnie's Foodmaster Plaza on Main Street, Melrose. A portion of the evening's sales will benefit our club and its' many community service projects, especially our support of military personnel on active duty. In particular, we are urging people to come down with family or friends as we raise funds to support the local Armory's 182nd Infantry Battalion and their families as these National Guard citiizen-soldiers serve our country in Afghanistan.
