At this month's OutLoud Open Mike Coffee House for poetry, prose, and music, accomplished Cambridge-based acoustic/folk band the Lenny Solomon Band offers original works spanning a variety of musical genres and rhythmic styles (www.solomonband.com).
Reminiscent of Dylan, CSNY, and The Band, the Solomon Band blends heart, energy, and a gentle spirit in capturing our times and our stories. Open Mike begins at 7:15 p.m. Performances and readings run from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There is no cover; donations are accepted for costs (including refreshments) and local charity. Creative atmosphere is receptive and respectful.
OutLoud meets the 4th Wednesday of each month, in the Beebe Estate's art exhibit space, 235 West Foster, Melrose (www.BeebeEstate.org). Parking available on grounds, behind the Estate; entrance is at the back of the building.
