Fourth of July: What's Happening in Melrose?

Wondering what's happening in Melrose for the Fourth of July? Melrose will celebrate Independence Day on Wednesday, July 4 with two special events. (If you're looking for )
In the morning, join the Melrose Recreation Department for the city's Annual Bike and Carriage Parade around . Bring your decorated bike, wagon, carriage, scooter, skateboard, or other custom ride and take part in the festivities.

Registration starts at 10 a.m. for the parade, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Parade winners will be announced at 11:15 a.m. by Tall Uncle Sam and a live DJ.
New this year, Chris Poulous, Bicycle Stunt World Champion, will be performing his Bicycle Stunt Show from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

There will also be free face painting, balloon animals, magic tricks, games, activities, and an open bounce house for all kids in the crowd. You can also enjoy ice cold slush and drinks.
In the evening, join the Mount Hood Park Association for its annual July 4th Summer Concert at . The concert begins at 6:45 p.m. and continues until dusk (about 8:30 p.m.).
The Middlesex Concert Band of Wakefield, under the direction of Mark E. Olsen, will play patriotic theme music, as well as popular show tunes.
Bring your family, blankets, and chairs and relax while the band entertains you with their rendition of popular patriotic and popular tunes.Â
The Park Association will also continue its annual tradition of "The Parade of Children" during the playing of "Stars and Stripes Forever." Each child participating in the parade will receive a small Amercian Flag.
