Giacomo's to Open New Location in Melrose

A very popular North End eatery will soon be opening up a new location in Melrose.

Giacomo’s Ristorante, which features Italian-style cuisine, appears to be moving into the former site of Absolutely Fabulous at 454 Main Street.

A Giacomo’s “coming soon” sign hangs in the front window of the former bar and restaurant. The sign features the exact same logo as the North End and South End locations. Absolutely Fabulous will be moving to the Melrose Highlands area.

“I am pleased to hear that a lease is being finalized that will bring a high-end Italian restaurant to the location previously occupied by Absolutely Fabulous,” Mayor Dolan wrote in a blog post earlier this summer.

Giacomo’s is known for its wide array of quality Italian dishes, including chicken and veal parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, lobster ravioli, pumpkin tortellini, mussels, calamari, clams and much more.

Giacomo’s opens each day at 4:30 p.m. Its North End location is constantly packed with customers. Wait times are almost never under an hour, but customers feel it’s absolutely worth it.

It’s not yet known when the Melrose location will open.
