To the Editor:
It’s finally time for Katherine Clark to be called to account for the path she has taken in Congress.

I have lived in Melrose for the last 43 years, and I am deeply concerned with the direction of our town, our state, and our country. As lawlessness reigns and police departments continue to be weakened and defunded, where are people to turn in times of trouble? That’s why every voter must know that much is at stake in this election.
Katherine Clark has been in Congress since 2013, yet she refuses to debate her opponents. Let the voters decide. A spirited debate would help voters see what each candidate stands for. We are going to elect someone to Congress - the least they can do is show up and debate.

I have watched Melrose politics over the years and have yet to hear from Congresswoman Clark unless she is giving a speech. The Congresswoman is not used to fielding questions, she speaks only when she can control the narrative. Caroline Colarusso is the exact opposite. I emailed her and asked her if she would be interested in debating; she was excited about the possibility of debating.
Whenever I have heard Clark, she echoes the same old, failed progressive talking points. Clark constantly panders and virtue signals. It’s always, “we need more money” as she promotes a cradle to grave nanny state. My taxes in Massachusetts and Melrose skyrocket. We sold our home because of ever rising taxes.
It’s time for Katherine Clark to debate. Caroline Colarusso is a local woman with strong. roots in our communities. She was born and raised right here in Boston, unlike Katherine Clark. There is a spark about her and a solid record for standing up for the average working-class resident behind her. As we approach the most important election of my lifetime, I say let’s have a healthy debate of the issues.
Clark and Colarusso need to answer to the voters.
Sincerely,
Paul Palumbo
