Manisha Will Embrace Our Future, Meet Challenges Head On: Letter

Having lived in our community for more than fifteen years, I have generally kept up with local events and issues. I have consistently voted on Election Day and shared my opinions with family and friends, but I never written publicly in support of any candidate. Let me explain to you then why I am supporting Manisha Bewtra for Mayor of Melrose - and why you should, too.

If elected, Manisha would bring a wealth of education, knowledge and practical experience to the job. She has more than fifteen years of experience as a city planner. The decisions and plans we make now can positively or negatively affect our community for years to come. By working with a variety of cities and towns in the Commonwealth, Manisha has seen first-hand many of the good, and bad, decisions local governments make. This experience gives her an invaluable familiarity and awareness of the issues that will impact Melrose’s future, whether it is housing, traffic control, or business development.

Beyond her technical expertise, Manisha will continue her practice of being informative, transparent, and accessible to everyone in the community. We may not all agree on everything, but Manisha will never hesitate to listen to all our voices and candidly provide her reasons behind any decision.

Manisha has also demonstrated that she is a fierce advocate for fairness and equity. Her past service on the Melrose Human Rights Commission and her current work on the City Council evidence her dedication to making Melrose truly “One Community Open to All”.

It feels like we are on the threshold of a new era in Melrose. Although we cannot predict all the changes, opportunities, and difficulties that make up our future, I know there is one candidate who is ready to embrace that future with enthusiasm and meet its challenges head on.
