It's official: The Melrose City Council for 2020 is in business.

MELROSE, MA - It's a new day in Melrose. The City Council was sworn in Tuesday night at City Hall, making it official for the seven newly elected City Councilors.
Chris Cinella, Jack Eccles, Mark Garipay, Jen Grigoraitis, Leila Migliorelli, Robb Stewart and Cory Thomas joined Kate Lipper-Garabedian, Shawn MacMaster, Jeff McNaught and John Tramontozzi. McNaught was also elected in November but took office soon after.
The City Counil elected Grigoraitis, the Ward 6 Councilor, president with a 10-0 vote. Tramontozzi declined to vote: The Council's elder statesman failed in his bid for the presidency in a nonbinding caucus vote in November.
