MELROSE, MA — There are still no confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Melrose and "only a few" being isolated or quarantined in the city, Health Director Ruth Clay said Friday morning.

Melrose has steered clear of confirmed cases even as those in Middlesex County spiked to 119, as of Thursday afternoon. Neighboring Malden this week said the city had two confirmed cases and 57 under some form of quarantine.

Clay also said the Health Department has no problem with people going to restaurants for takeout or ordering delivery, as long as they practice social distancing.
