Melrose High Student Tests Positive For COVID-19

MELROSE, MA — At least one Melrose High student has tested positive for COVID-19, officials said Wednesday night.

Superintendent Julie Kukenberger and Mayor Paul Brodeur said the Melrose Health Department has already started contact tracing. If a child has been identified as a close contact of the student who tested positive, their parent or guardian will be notified within 24 hours.

"The health and safety of our children is our top priority, and that is why I am reaching out immediately from a place of concern," Kukenberger said in a letter to the school community.
