Melrose Man Dies After Being Hit By Car In Everett
Francis Stamegna, 62, of Melrose, was killed when he tried to cross Revere Beach Parkway Friday night.
EVERETT, MA — State police released the identity of a man who was killed while trying to run across Revere Beach Parkway in Everett around 9:30 p.m. Friday. Francis Stamegna, 62, of Melrose, and a woman had made it across one side of the road and were trying to cross the westbound lanes when Stamegna was hit by a 2012 Dodge Charger near the intersection of Vine Street.
State Police said the pedestrians were crossing against traffic signals. Stamenga was taken by ambulance to Whidden Hospital in Everett, where he later was pronounced dead. The 24-year-old Utah man driving the Charger stayed on the scene. No charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
