Melrose Mayor Appointed As MBTA Committee Leader
Jen Grigoraitis is in her second year as mayor of Melrose

MELROSE, MA — Mayor Jen Grigoraitis has been appointed as the newest Co-Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board’s Rapid Transit and Bus Committee.
The Committee reviews the MBTA’s bus, heavy rail, light rail, and paratransit operations including things such as transformation initiatives, expansion proposals, and pilot programs. The Advisory Board voted unanimously to grant Grigoraitis her new position. She will serve as the Co-Chair along with Boston Transportation Department Transit Team Director Matthew Moran.
Advisory Board Executive Director Brian Kane named Melrose’s proximity to the MBTA’s buses, Commuter Rail and Orange Line as a driving force behind Grigoaitis’s appointment.
