Melrose Police Ask Residents To Secure Vehicles: Police Log

Also: Police arrested a man who they said was drunkenly speeding on West Wyoming Monday morning.

MELROSE, MA — Police are asking residents to make sure they lock their cars and secure their valuables after a recent uptick in break-in reports. Police told Patch that a break-in isn't always violent as it sounds — sometimes it's just opening an unlocked car door or going into a rolled-down window.

1:03 a.m. — Nigel Edwards, 29, of Haverhill was arrested after a traffic stop on West Wyoming Ave. on charges of OUI liquor over .08 percent and speeding.
