10:53 a.m. Past breaking and entering into . Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said entry was gained by cutting screen to window into front lower section of church. At time of report, nothing appeared missing. Under investigation.

6:34 p.m. 911 call for an assault and battery on Ash Street. A 33-year-old Reading man was issued a summons on charges of assault and battery (two counts) and assault (two counts).
7:55 p.m. Melrose-Wakefield Hospital emergency room nurse called to report a .

10:12 a.m. Caller reports person at apartment has warrant. Samuel D. Lewis, 19 (at time of arrest), 3 Mount Vernon St., Apt. 3, was arrested on the charge of possession of a Class A drug and on a warrant.
11:23 a.m. School resource officer reports to for report of juvenile with a pellet gun.
1:51 p.m. Fraud reported from Oakland Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 4
12:06 p.m. Hit and run accident reported from First Street.
4:22 p.m. Hit and run accident reported from Lynn Fells Parkway in front of middle school. Referred to State Police.
Thursday, Jan. 5
1:16 a.m. Officer locates several trash bags dumped in the area of Dexter Road.
6:41 a.m. Report of car damaged overnight on East Foster Street.
4:34 p.m. Six trash bags and a television dumped on side of Penney Road at Dexter Road.
5:48 p.m. Past breaking and entering reported from Lynde Street.
Friday, Jan. 6
7:07 a.m. Break into truck on Batchelder Street.
8:17 a.m. Caller from Bellevue Avenue states car was ransacked, nothing of value taken.
8:26 a.m. Trash dumped in driveway on Stowecroft Road.
10:14 a.m. Caller from Orient Avenue reports unlocked car was gone through during the night but nothing of value was taken.
7:36 p.m. Vandalism reported from Pleasant Street.
Saturday, Jan. 7
8:56 a.m. Caller states dog fell through ice at Tremont Street at Lake Avenue. Dog removed from ice.
12:10 p.m. Past breaking and entering reported from Waverly Place.
1:23 p.m. Motor vehicle struck cyclist at Lynn Fells Parkway at Tremont Street. State Police notified.
3:13 p.m. Caller states mother is being attacked on Elm Street. An 18-year-old Wakefield resident was issued a summons on the charge of assault and battery.
5:52 p.m. Walk-in report requested for an incident at Trenton Street home. An 18-year-old Melrose resident was issued a summons on the charge of assault.
Sunday, Jan. 8
8:43 a.m. New trash dumping on Swains Pond Avenue a Penney Road.
9:07 a.m. Caller states two vehicles on Bay State Road broken into overnight.
10:41 a.m. Report of break into two garages on Damon Avenue overnight.
11:06 a.m. Caller from Bay State Road reports GPS unit stolen from unlocked vehicle.
2:26 p.m. Caller from Summit Avenue reports garage/car broken into.
6:41 p.m. Caller reported that he was struck by a car at West Wyoming Avenue and Main Street and received an injury to his arm. Car left the area. Victim transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

A 33-year-old Everett man was issued a summons on Friday, Jan. 6 on charges of driving with a suspended license, registration not in possession and speeding.
A 67-year-old Melrose man was issued a summons on Friday, Jan. 6 on charges of driving with a suspended license and failing to stop/yield at a red light.
A 21-year-old Malden man was issued a summons on Saturday, Jan. 7 on charges of leaving the scene of property damage and window obstructed/nontransparent .
