Melrose Police Warn Of New Scam Calls From This Number

MELROSE, MA — Police are waring residents to steer clear of calls from a specific number after a reports of scam attempts.

Police said to disregard calls from the number 833-563-0356 that shows on caller ID as "United States." Do not answer, and if you do, hang up — and don't give any information out.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

10:35 a.m. — Police stopped a vehicle on Lebanon Street that was reported stolen out of Wakefield. Ramon Berberena, 28, of Malden was issued a summons on charges of failure to stop for police, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended licenses (subsequent offense,) reckless operation of a motor vehicle, speeding in. violation of a special regulation, failure to signal and marked lanes violation.

5:15 p.m. — Michelle Thomson, 38, of Braintree was issued a summons on charges of intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official and criminal harassment.

9:53 p.m. — A traffic stop on Lebanon Street resulted in a summons for Heitor Freitas Santons, 21, or Stoneham, of charges of speeding and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

1:20 a.m. — Caller reporting stolen money. Michael Kowalski, 39, of Main Street was arrested on charges of domestic assault or assault and battery and possession of a class a drug.

8:10 a.m. — A 16-year-old was arrested on charges of threatening to commit a crime and intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official.

Thursday, Jan. 16

11:44 a.m. — A report of vandalism resulted in a summons for Philip Aleo, 61, of Washington Street, on charges of malicious destruction of property less than $1,200.

Friday, Jan. 17

4:17 p.m. — Solomon Wilson, 26, of Somerville, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a class a drug with intent to distribute (subsequent offense) possession of a class b drug with intent to distribute - cocaine (subsequent offense,) possession of a class b drug with intent to distribute -crack cocaine (subsequent offense,) operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in at a rate of speed exceeding the posted limit.

Saturday, Jan. 18

11:17 a.m. — Kim Martin, 58, of Wakefield was issued a summons on an assault and battery charge after a report of a MelroseWakefield patient assaulting staff.
