The Melrose School Committee will begin meeting face to face, or mask to mask, beginning next month.

MELROSE, MA — The Melrose School Committee's next meeting will be in person, the first time in months the body will work (masked) face to face. The Aug. 11 meeting will also see members practice social distancing.

It comes at a crucial time for the School Committee, which Tuesday night saw hundreds attend its virtual meeting. Those people would still be watching and participating remotely — perhaps via the WebEx remote system the committee has been using.

Melrose Public Schools released its draft return to instruction plan over the weekend. Tuesday's meeting was for the public presentation of the plan and to allow for a sizable amount of public comment.
