Melrose's Newest Task Force Holds First Meeting
The Financial Task Force is co-chaired by Chief Financial Officer Kerri Golden and the school district's Business Manager Ken Kelley.

MELROSE, MA — The Financial Task Force held its inaugural meeting on Friday, March 7.
In February, Mayor Jen Grigoraitis formed the seven-person task force composed of leaders from numerous other boards and committees. During its first meeting, the members brainstormed a schedule for meetings that will include other budget stakeholders and the public overall.
According to the city, the task force was formed to develop one or more override questions for the November Municipal Election. A public forum is currently scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, at 7 p.m. Employee unions working within the city are strongly encouraged to attend future meetings, as employee salaries and benefits reportedly account for approximately 80% of Melrose’s operating budget.
