Apple picking season is here and after last year’s not so great apple crop for many farmers in New England, this year’s apple picking crop is looking to be one of the best.
This season is off to an early start and is expected to be most active through late October.

Below is a list of some of our picks nearby. In addition to pick-your-own, most orchards sell fresh-picked apples at a farmstand and also have other activities. Take a look:
Barker’s Farmstand
- Where: 1267 Osgood St. (Route 125), North Andover
- When: Picking, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Farm stand, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Details: Pick your own apples, including Honeycrisp, McCoun. Empire, Cortland and McIntosh
Boston Hill Farm
- Where: 1370 Turnpike St. (Route 114), North Andover
- When: Daily, 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Details: Pick-your-own McIntosh, Cortland and MaCoun apples plus hayrides, petting zoo, farm store, bakery and flowers.
Brooksby Farm
- Where: 54 Felton St., Peabody
- When: Picking, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; Farm store is open until 5 p.m.
- Details: Pick-your-own McIntosh, Cortland and Gala apples, plus a farm store, barnyard animals, hay rides, flowers and yard decorations.
Cider Hill Farm
- Where: 45 Fern Ave., Amesbury
- When: Daily, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Details: Pick-your-own McIntosh, Gala and Courtland apples plus free hayrides to the orchards from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Connors Farm
- Where: 30 Valley Road (Route 35), Danvers
- When: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Details: Additional activities include corn maze, hayrides, cow train, jumping pillow, farm animals, pedal carts, duck races, pumpkin blaster, bouncy houses, pig races, etc. There’s also a farm store.
Ingaldsby Farm
- Where: 14 Washington St., West Boxford
- When: Picking (weekends), 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Farm stand, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Details: Pick-your-own McIntosh and Cortland apples, plus a farmstand, cut flowers, pies, vegetables and animals.
