MELROSE, MA — A State Police Trooper facing charges of soliciting sexual favors from a man during a traffic stop pled not guilty in Middlesex Superior Court this week, according to a report from MassLive.

Terence Kent was officially charged with bribery as well as indecent assault and battery.
Kent is accused blocked a man’s car on purpose in the vicinity of Soldiers Field in Brighton last August. According to the District Attorney’s office, Kent told the man his car’s registration and insurance were expired.

Kent then allegedly asked the man to meet him in Lexington soon after where he offered to absolve his vehicular issues in exchange for a sexual favor. He was been suspended from the State Police since November while the accusations are being investigated. Kent’s attorney David Yanetti insists his client is innocent and emphasizes how Kent’s family, native to Melrose, fully supports him.
