Annual Pumpkin Stroll Returns to Milford This Weekend

Prizes will be awarded to the most creative pumpkin carvers.

Want to get a head start on Halloween this year in Milford? We’ve got good news.

Milford resident Mike Shain, a mortgage originator with Village Mortgage Milford, and the Milford Parks and Recreation Department are holding the 2014 Pumpkin Stroll this weekend, an annual event that attracts thousands of families from Milford.

This year’s event will be held at the Milford Town Park basketball court on Walnut Street on Saturday, Oct. 25 (with a rain date of Sunday, Oct. 26).

Those wishing to carve pumpkins will need to drop off their pumpkins at the basketball court between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Three $25 gift cards will be awarded for the scariest, funniest and most creative pumpkins, and prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m. (pumpkin carvers must be present to win).

Youths who attend are encouraged to dress up in their best Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating at the courts from 6 to 7 p.m.

Local businesses from around Milford will also be on hand at tables to hand out treats.

The event is free of charge, though a collection box will be available for anyone wishing to make donations of nonperishable food items to the Daily Bread Food Pantry.
