Milford Fino Field Pool Opening For Summer 2024 After Renovation
The Fino Field Pool has been closed since the end of the 2019 season. The town rebuilt the pool over the last eight months.
MILFORD, MA — Milford's four-year swimming drought is about to be over.
The town pool at Fino Field will open for the first time since 2019 next month following a major renovation that began last year. Milford Parks and Recreation Department Administrator James Asam said this week the pool should be open by the last week in June.
The pool closed at the end of the 2019 season and didn't reopen in 2020 due to the pandemic, although plans for a rebuild were already brewing. Milford Town Meeting in October 2021 approved funds for the project.

The new pool will look familiar to swimmers. The renovation includes an addition to the lap section of the pool. A new shallow lagoon area will allow handicap swimmers to enter the pool. The new facility will also get a splash pad and a new bathroom and locker room building. Plans for the facility were approved over the summer by the Planning Board, and construction began in October.
Since the pool's closure, the state's P. Eugene Casey Pool was the only option around. The pool would frequently see long lines during peak summer months. That pool will also be available this summer between June 22 and Aug. 18.
