Milford High School Student Briefly Detained By ICE: Report

He met with immigration officials in Burlington on Monday, according to WCVB.

MILFORD, MA — A 16-year-old high school student in Milford was briefly detained by ICE on Friday, according to a report from WCVB.

Video from traffic cameras showed Gustavo Oliveira traveling as a passenger in a white car before being stopped by two ICE agents in Milford, according to the report. Oliveira, who goes to Milford High School, met with immigration officials in Burlington on Monday, WCVB reported.

His attorney, Jill Seeber, of the Mabel Center for Immigration Justice, questioned the way he was detained and told WCVB that she still hasn't been told why it happened.

Seeber also told WCVB that Oliveira's family is seeking asylum and has been following the legal process. ICE officials requested a meeting with his parents on Tuesday, according to the news outlet.
