Woman Arrested In Milford 'Near Fatal' Stabbing: Police

Milford police shut down Purchase Street Monday after finding a man there with a major stab wound.

MILFORD, MA — A town woman was arrested Tuesday in connection to a serious stabbing along Purchase Street early Monday, according to police.

Milford detectives on Tuesday near 4 p.m. pulled over Sandy Villeda Martinez, 35, near the intersection of Sumner and Dilla streets. She is being charged with mayhem, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault to murder and obstruction of justice.

Police began receiving 911 calls near 4 a.m. Monday. The man as lying along the road with a stab wound. He was taken to UMass Memorial in Worcester for treatment, and was in serious but stable condition, police said.

After the incident, police closed the portion of Purchase Street between Glines Avenue and Mechanic Street, an area that is just north of Route 16/Main Street. The road reopend just before 10 a.m.
