Milford Police: Fire Dept. Evacuates School Street Building Due to Gas Odor

Monday, Nov. 3
At 1:34 a.m., Big Lots on South Main Street reported to police that a glass-break alarm had been sounding in the interior cash room at the store.
At 8:57 a.m., a caller reported that a vehicle had been driving erratically in the area of Dilla Street and Fortune Boulevard.

At 9:47 a.m., a caller reported that he had been scammed out of $600 from a phone scam.
At 11:56 a.m., police responded to Milford High School on a report of a disturbance in the cafeteria involving two students.

At 12:45 p.m., police responded to Medway Road on a report of a two-car accident.
At 1:41 p.m., a caller reported an odor of natural gas coming from the second floor of an apartment building on School Street. NSTAR responded and the Milford Fire Department evacuated the building due to the strong odor.
At 2:48 p.m., police responded to a report of a fight at Milford High School. Officers reported that the matter was under control and planned to speak with school officials.
At 2:52 p.m., a caller reported that upon returning to a house on Edgewood Road after two weeks it appeared that several items had been missing, including copper wire, and that a basement window had been tampered with.
At 3:59 p.m., a caller reported that a vehicle struck a pole in the area of Birch Street and Medway Road. One vehicle was towed from the scene and National Grid was notified for small damage to the utility pole.
At 5:42 p.m., a caller reported that several yard decorations had been stolen from a property on Whitewood Road.
