Milford Police Log: Western Union Scam; Fight in Stop & Shop Parking Lot

Thursday, Oct. 23

At 12:59 a.m., Milford police responded to Milford Nissan on East Main Street on a report that a woman had been arguing with a man at the business. Officers responded and spoke to all involved parties, and subsequently placed a Wilmington, Delaware resident into protective custody.

At 8:41 a.m., a caller reported that water had been dripping through a light fixture in the dining room at McDonald’s on Medway Road. The town’s assistant wiring inspector was notified.

At 12:23 p.m., a caller reported that three youths had been fighting in the parking lot at Stop and Shop, then took off in a gold Honda Accord.

At 1:35 p.m., a caller reported to police that she sent money via Western Union and subsequently believed the move to be part of a scam.

At 1:44 p.m., a caller reported a vehicle had been tailgating on Highland Street, attempting to pass a school bus with children inside.

At 5:50 p.m., a caller reported finding a license plate near the Milford Animal Hospital on West Street.

At 8:31 p.m., a caller reported a fire alarm had been sounding at New England Gurdwara Sahi on East Main Street, though no smoke or fire had been showing.

At 9:03 p.m., the Milford Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at the Waters Corporation on Technology Drive. A female worker was believed to have accidentally hit a panel.
