Milford Police Pursuit Ends In RI Man's Arrest

Milford police pursued the man after a resident reported a stolen package.

MILFORD, MA — Milford police arrested a Pawtucket man Tuesday after a brief pursuit after a suspected theft, according to the department.

According to police, a resident called 911 just after 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to report that a man had stolen a package off their neighbor's porch, and was seen driving away in a red sedan with a Rhode Island license place.

Police caught up to the car and pursued it until the driver stopped near Quinshipaug Road off Dilla Street east of Louisa Lake.

Police arrested the driver, Wilber Arias, 24, of Pawtucket, on charges including larceny over $1,200, failure to stop, receiving stolen property worth over $1,200, speeding, marked lanes violation, negligent operation of a vehicle, illegal plates, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to signal.
