Recount In Milford Will Settle School Committee Race Wednesday
By the end of the day, either incumbent Christopher Wilson or challenger Gregory Allegrezza get a Milford School Committee seat.

MILFORD, MA — The Milford Board of Registrars will oversee a recount Wednesday in the ultra close 2024 school committee race.
Apparent losing candidate Gregory Allegrezza petitioned for the recount after final results showed him trailing third-place winner and school committee chair Christopher Wilson, 1,488 to 1,490.
The recount should be complete with results available by the end of the day Wednesday, according to the Milford Town Clerk's office. Both Wilson and Allegrezza will be allowed to have supporters present during the recount, and there will also be a public observation area. Anyone interested in observing should arrive at town hall by 8:45 a.m. Wednesday.

The race between Allegrezza and Wilson changed several times after unofficial results were first released on Election Day April 2. Allegrezza was in the lead by 14 votes on election night, but two days later, Wilson pulled ahead by 12 votes when mail-in ballots were tallied. Another update brought the race within two votes.
The other two school committee candidates in the four-way 2024 race for three seats won safely. Incumbents Meg Hornberger and Matthew Zacchilli earned 1,615 and 1,878 votes, respectively. Hornberger will be seated for a third term, and Zacchilli for a second term.
