Police Log: Cat Left in a Bag, Boat Lands in Woods

The following information was provided by the Milford Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Thursday, Oct. 3

12:09 p.m.: A caller from the Gan Rivkah Center on Cedar Street requested a well-being check on three children who were staying at the shelter with their mother's boyfriend. The mother hadn't been seen in seven days.

1:04 p.m.: The Fire Department responded to a brush fire about 2,000 feet off the path of the Milford Water Co. on Dilla Street.

2:21 p.m.: A car struck a fire hydrant in the area of 450 Fortune Blvd. The vehicle was leaking fuel and towed from the scene.

5:46 p.m.: A caller from Maple Street and Luby Avenue said she believed a former friend just tried to run her over. Police filed a report.

6:27 p.m.: A two-year-old from Lincoln Street fell and struck her head. She was conscious and had a bump above her eye. LifeFlight responded.

Friday, Oct. 4

12:10 a.m.: A car hit a fire hydrant and knocked it off its base near IRA Toyota. Art's Towing was notified.

8:39 a.m.: A caller from Silver Hill Road reported he lost about $500 cash leaving his driveway the previous day.

8:56 a.m.: A caller from Correira Circle reported his car was vandalized.

4:55 p.m.: Station 2 reported they received a call for one head injury on the Milford High School football field. The person was taken to the hospital.

5:31 p.m.: A caller from Eames Street said her computer was hacked by someone posing at Department of Homeland security, and that he had turned her camera on. Police learned the PC was hacked but there was no loss of finances. The known hack was listed on the FBI website as locking computers and demanding ransom to unlock them.

7:36 p.m.: A man called police from Whitewood Road and said his boat trailer came off his Ford Explorer. Police reported the boat came off the trailer and landed in the woods.

8:27 p.m.: A woman said there were 20 football players walking back from the Sports Authority to the nearby hotel. Police reported a traveling football team was staying at the Marriott and walked to the Sports Authority to purchase some items.

9:13 p.m.: A caller from South Main Street reported a white Trans Am struck a vehicle, and then both vehicles took off toward the hospital. 

Saturday, Oct. 5

12:11 a.m.: A caller reported a vehicle was pulled over on the side of Birch and Beaver streets. Two women were sitting outside of it upset and asking to call 911. Police were called to check on the husband of one of the women. Police will be seeking a summons to charge Timothy S. Miller, 30, of 86 West St., Milford, with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

2:02 a.m.: A caller from the Whitcomb House reported a man was jumping in front of passing vehicles by Dairy Queen. The man was taken into protective custody.

6:54 a.m.: A 15-year-old girl said she was assaulted with her mother the night before over an argument in regards to the girl's cell phone being taken away. Police filed a report.

12:51 p.m.: A caller said they stopped at Friendly's the previous night and they overcharged the credit card and wouldn't refund the money.

8:49 p.m.: A Rolling Green Drive resident reported a loud party. Police spoke to the parties; it was a small child's birthday party that would be clearing shortly.

11:40 p.m.: A caller aid someone had knocked on his door on Dilla Street and left a bag on his front step. There was a cat inside. The cat was healthy and arrangements were made to get it to a safe home.

Sunday, Oct. 6

3:21 a.m.: A caller from School Street said there were up to 10 males causing a ruckus and smashing bottles. Police responded and found a fight inside a living room. 

7:08 p.m.: The Fire Department was called to a Senate Road apartment for a woman who was choking on a piece of ham. The woman was taken to the hospital.

11:09 p.m.: A caller from Fountain Street said three men were yelling and possibly intoxicated. Police responded; there were no weapons involved.

Monday, Oct. 7

6:24 a.m.: A caller said someone broke into his truck on Beaver Street overnight and stole some items, including a GPS.
