Police Officer Taken To Hospital After Milford Restaurant Fire
The massive fire broke out on Main Street shortly before 5 p.m.

MILFORD, MA — A Milford police officer was taken to the hospital after a massive fire broke out at 72 Main St. on Monday night.
Milford police said that Sgt. Patrick Dailey went to the third floor to rescue a resident from the building, which houses Turtle Tavern and residential apartments. But he found the apartment empty, as the person had already exited the building.
Sgt. Dailey was taken to Milford Regional Hospital for smoke inhalation treatment and was later released, police said.

The fire broke out shortly before 5 p.m., and fire crews from Milford and several towns remained on scene battling it until after 11 p.m.
Officials said the building was a total loss.

A large portion of Main Street and the surrounding area remains closed on Tuesday. It is expected to reopen at around 10 p.m.
