A woman in Milford who claimed to be feeling ill and who said she had recently traveled to Milford from Africa does not have Ebola-like symptoms, Milford Police said.
On Monday morning, Milford police officers responded to a well-being check of a woman in the Court Square area, which is behind Milford Town Hall, after she had been seen walking outside while barefoot and without a jacket, Milford Police Chief Thomas O’Loughlin said.

The woman reportedly told responding officers that she had not been feeling well and that she had recently arrived in Milford from Africa nine days prior, and as such prompted officials to proceed with caution.
“Following established protocols, the officers did not approach the woman and asked her to go back into her residence and she did so,” O’Loughlin said. “The officers asked for assistance of the Fire Department and the paramedics and they responded.”

After paramedics assessed the woman’s condition, and after medical personnel with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health reviewed the situation, officials determined the woman was not showing symptoms of Ebola. She was subsequently transported by ambulance to Milford Regional Medical Center for “medical needs not related to Ebola,” O’Loughlin said.
