MILFORD, MA — Without community leaders, Milford wouldn’t hum along nearly as smoothly as it does. We’d miss their contributions in big and small ways.

Patch has partnered with T-Mobile to recognize these often unsung community leaders and celebrate their contributions.

This submission comes from Harold S. Rhodes, a Milford reader who nominated Jennifer Ward.

What does this community leader do?

Jen has both overseen and managed the tremendous growth in the number of youths using the MYC, the quite dramatic increase in the number and varied programs at the MYC, and has created substantial community financial support for the MYC. Altogether, because of Jen, the Milford Youth Center has become the center of all youth activities and is recognized as a quite special part of our Milford community.

Why do you believe the community leader should be recognized or honored?

To best honor Jen, I would recommend a program to bring back all the youths and parents, as well as the current youths and parents, who have been impacted by Jen's overwhelming commitment for many years.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the community hero?

Jen is one of the most dedicated, quite committed, and well-admired persons in the Town of Milford. Jen is a hero to us all.
