Blood Drive Brings in Above Average Donations
An American Red Cross Blood Drive, which was held as an Eagle Scout project, yielded 30 pints of blood.
A Milton Academy Student and member of Troop Three Milton organized an American Red Cross Blood Drive Thursday at the Milton Public Library that was attended by 53 people.
Robert MacKay set up the drive as the final step to become an Eagle Scout. The event, which took place in the Keys Community Room from 1 to 6 p.m. yesterday yielded 30 pints of blood. MacKay called the drive a success.
The 17-year-old scout organized the drive after a friend from his hometown of Cold Spring Harbor, NY was diagnosed with cancer and underwent a blood transfusion.
