Jamel Bannister, 24, was sentenced Wednesday following his conviction Tuesday of second-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.The Dorchester man was convicted following his role in the 2013 murder of 26-year-old Courtney Jackson, according to a recent press release.Bannister's co-defendant, Brian Cooper, 26, of Mattapan, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder earlier this month and will face sentencing May 5.
