MILTON, MA — Milton Animal Control Officer Nancy Bersani has been honored with the Animal Control Officer of the Year Award by the Animal Rescue League of Boston and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).

Bersani has been Milton's animal control officer since 2011. Her love for animals had been instilled by her parents, who were volunteers at the Milton Animal League Animal Shelter. She began volunteering there in the mid-1990s. She attended the Animal Control Officers Association of Massachusetts Academy in 2005.

"I have had the honor of working with ACO Nancy Bersani on animal cruelty investigations, animals that needed to be rescued that were hurt, injured or trapped and just finding animals their forever homes," said Animal Rescue League Director of Law Enforcement Lt. Alan Borgal.
