Milton High School Graduate Appointed Principal at Tucker Elementary School
Dr. Elaine McNeil-Girmai to return to her hometown as principal of Tucker Elementary School.

Dr. Elaine McNeil-Girmai was appointed recently as the new prinicpal of Tucker Elementary School.
Schools superintendent Mary Gormley announced the appointment on her blog for the Milton School Department.
"I am very excited to return to Milton," wrote McNeil-Girmai in an email to Patch. "I received a wonderful education through the Milton school system that I believe set me up for success in college and beyond.

"I have fond memories of my time at Tucker and I hope to create similar memories for the students while ensuring they receive a strong academic start to their education."
McNeil-Girmai was the top candidate out of the 51 people who made applications for the principalship. She currently serves as assistant principal/academic director of the Empower Charter School in Brooklyn, N.Y.

A graduate of Boston College, earning her master's degree from U-Mass. Boston and her Ph.D. from Loyola Marymount University, McNeil-Girmai was a second grade teacher at the Collicot Elementary School from 2001 to 2005.
McNeil-Girmai will start her principalship for the Milton Public on July 1, 2013.
