Milton Residents 'Relieved' Following Bombing Suspect Capture

Local runners wore Boston Marathon jackets from past races during their Saturday morning run.

Milton runners could be seen Saturday morning all around town wearing the Boston Athletic Association jackets from this year and years past, as a sign of solidarity, said local runner Keli Hoyt-Rupert. "We felt part of the Milton community," she said.

Hoyt-Rupert had run in Monday's Boston Marathon and was less than a mile from finishing the race, when she was told about the two bombings at the finish line. Her wife Maggie was making her way to the family meeting area. "Thankfully, she was not at the finish line," said Rupert.

On Friday night, the two women were glued to the TV, watching the manhunt and eventual capture of the second bombing suspect unfold.

Bernadette Moonan, 27-years-old, a first grade teacher at Cunningham School also ran in Monday's Boston Marathon.

Moonan was seven-tenths of a mile from finishing the marathon, when she was diverted from the finish line. At Mile 25, she had just passed her family and friends, who were cheering her on, so she knew they were safe.

Moonan watched the televised capture of the second bombing suspect on Friday wth her brother.

"I feel relieved and like everyone else in Boston, happy that they found him. Relieved. Maybe we'll get some answers," Moonan said. "I haven't been able to stop watching the news."

Lisa Coull: Couldn't be more prouder of all the police in their dangerous but diligent effort to capture that piece of crap, who will not face enough justice to wipe away the devastating things that happened to all those poor people and families. Respect!

J.J. Hayle: Relief...But sorrow for the families of the victims and the suspects. Such a lost young soul. At least there's some closure.

Eileen Velez: Relief
