Milton Speaks Candidates Night Begins Election Forum Schedule

The first of three forums for the 2013 Milton Town Election was hosted by Milton Speaks and Milton Access Television on Tuesday evening.

Candidates for each contested race in the April 30 Milton Town Election appeared at the 17th Annual Milton Speaks Candidates Night at the Milton Access Television studio on Tuesday, March 26.

The televised forum, which was moderated by Bernard Lynch, and ran nearly three hours. All of the candidates for town office were present with the exception of five constable candidates. Incumbent Edward Villard and challenger Robert Mason were the only candidates in attendance.

Representatives from Milton Patch, 02186 My Town Matters and the Milton Times asked questions of the candidates. Each candidate was given a minute to answer each question and three minutes to provide a closing remark.

The candidates night will be televised many times before the election, including at 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. on the four days leading up to April 30.

Milton Access TV is offering a new opportunity for town-wide candidates to film a one-minute promotional piece to be aired the entire month of April. Staff will not help write the promos, but will film them. "Candidates 2013" will air four days a week and then in greater rotation in the last four days of the race.
