Selectmen Oppose Proposed Flight Path Over Milton

The Milton Board of Selectmen has released a letter opposing a new FAA proposed flight path over Milton.

The Milton Board of Selectmen have sent a letter opposing the proposed Runway 33L that would add a third flight path from Boston Logan International Airport over the Town of Milton, to the project manager.

The proposal from the Federal Aviation Administration is currently under review after the public input period was extended. The Selectmen's letter asks for "further study, clarification and explanation."

The letter, signed by each of Milton's three Selectmen, was sent to Terry English, project manager from the FAA.

The Selectmen sought insight from Milton resident statistician Cindy L. Christiansen, Ph.D. on the issue. Christiansen expressed concern over the science and presentation of data in the proposal.

"The concern over faulty data, as well as, questionable information regarding the altitude at which the planes will be flying creates a situation under which no informed conclusion can be made," reads the Selectmen's letter.
