Senior Center St. Patrick's Day: Singing Selectman, Candidates, Irish Step Dancers
The Milton Council on Aging's St. Patrick's Day celebration featured Irish step dancers, the candidates for the Milton Board of Selectmen and a pair of songs from first-term Selectman Denis Keohane.
For the 12th year, the Milton Council on Aging hosted Milton seniors for a corned beef and cabbage dinner to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Irish dancers from Clifton Academy and Selectman Denis Keohane provided entertainment.
The five dancers donned brightly colored dresses and wowed the large crowd during a few songs. Keohane, who was elected as a Selectman last April, returned to the COA for the second year to sing a few Irish tunes.
The two candidates vying to join Keohane on the Board of Selectmen, incumbent Bob Sweeney and challenger Katie Conlon were in attendance. Sweeney and Conlon spoke with potential voters and addressed the audience briefly.
"In my three years as Selectman I hope I've earned your trust and most importantly I hope I get your vote," Sweeney said.
Conlon, a former Warrant Committee member said, "I also want to ask you all for your vote and happy St. Patrick's Day."
