The Taste of MA Farmers Market Week
The farmers and vendors that set up shop at the Milton Farmers Market each Thursday, share why they think the market is an asset to the community.
A summer and fall staple in Milton is the weekly farmers market in Milton Village, just off Adams Street on Wharf Street. Farmers and local vendors alike come each week to sell the freshest products directly to the people of Milton.
The weekly visual of fresh produce in Milton is common across Massachusetts, which has 215 farmers markets. To celebrate that fact and the benefits such institutions have on the state, Gov. Deval Patrick declared the week of August 22, Massachusetts Farmers Market Week.
On August 26, Sen. Brian A. Joyce and Board of Selectmen Chair Marion McEttrick, were on hand to read the Governor's declaration and open the festivities. The usual vendors manned their stands and sold the same local products they've been selling all summer.
