The Week Ahead

A look forward at the happenings in Milton the week of September 13.

Every Monday, Milton Patch will give you a rundown of what to expect in the week ahead. You'll find scheduled meetings and noteworthy events and maybe even where you'll find me this week.

From Monday through Thursday this week, there are notable meetings and events. From a group of meetings to an election, there will be no lack of news in Milton on the week of September 13.

On Monday at 6:30 p.m. the Board of Selectmen will be meeting in Town Hall. The meeting is expected to be short, as they will be meeting for the third time expecting to sign the contract with Curry College over the operation of Ulin Rink. At a meeting last week, Town Administrator Kevin Mearn was confident the deal would be finalized by today.

On Tuesday, the Primary Election will bring voters from across the town to the polls. Contested races include Representative in Congress, Norfolk District Attorney and Governor's Council, among others.

Also Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the Milton Historical Society will be hosting a rededication ceremony at the Milton Public Library for the Hutchinson Mirror. The large gilt mirror that was once owned by Royal Governor Thomas Hutchinson was taken out of the library during the renovations but has been reinstalled.

On Wednesday, at 6:30 the Traffic Commission will meet at the Milton Police Department. The meeting will consider solutions to the high traffic at the intersection of Neponset Valley and Brush Hill Road.

On Thursday, the Board of Selectmen will meet again for a previously scheduled meeting. The meeting will be the last for the Selectmen before the Special Town Meeting on Monday, September 20.
